2016 BREAKOUT BAND THE RECORD COMPANY SCORES GRAMMY NOMINATION ON DEBUT ALBUM!

“…showing off a down-and-dirty sound and megawatts of onstage intensity.” – Rolling Stone

“Raw emotion, dedication, honesty and hard work. These are just some of the words that best describe Los Angeles rock trio The Record Company.” – Paste

After 42 weeks strong on both the Billboard Top New Artist Heatseekers Chart and the Nielsen Alternative New Artist Chart, the roots/rock trio The Record Company has scored a GRAMMY Award nomination for their debut release Give It Back to You.

The Los Angeles-based band – Chris Vos (guitar, lead vocals, harmonica), Alex Stiff (bass, guitar, vocals) and Marc Cazorla (drums, piano, vocals) – unleashed its debut album, Give It Back to You, on February 12, 2016 and immediately struck a power chord nationwide. The album’s first single, “Off The Ground,” garnered extensive airplay in the alternative formats, achieving the coveted #1 AAA spot, where it remained for two consecutive weeks.

The Record Company’s popular success has been matched by enthusiastic and unanimous critical acclaim. “Caught halfway between the stomp of mid-century rock & roll and the soulful kick of Delta blues, the Record Company kick up a raw, rootsy racket,” raved Rolling Stone. “The blues may be nothing new, but the Record Company wring new life out of old traditions.” Entertainment Weekly wrote,  “The scuzzy, 10-track set meshes the group’s biggest influences—the early electric blues rock n’ roll of John Lee Hooker, staccato lyrical delivery akin to The Stooges frontman Iggy Pop, and Rolling Stones-style grooves.”

What’s more, The Record Company have rocked the airwaves with a series of high profile TV appearances, including CBS’ Late Show with Stephen Colbert and TBS’ Conan, not to mention countless radio sessions and live concert broadcasts on SiriusXM, NPR’s World Café Live, and Chicago’s WXRT.

Give It Back to You earned a GRAMMY nomination in the category of Best Contemporary Blues Album, as announced today by the Recording Academy in anticipation of the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards set for Sunday, February 12, 2017 – exactly one year from the release of Give It Back to You.
